Accessibility Statement
Accessibility is a core value in my work as a UX designer. This website is designed to be accessible to all users, regardless of ability or technology used.

Commitment to Accessibility
I am committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. I continuously work to improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards.
As an IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC), I apply professional accessibility standards to all my work. While not legally required (yet), this website aims to conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines).
Why Accessibility Matters to Me
As a UX designer who's worked on products for millions of users, I've seen firsthand how accessible design benefits everyone—not just people with disabilities. Good contrast helps in bright sunlight. Keyboard navigation helps power users. Clear language helps non-native speakers. Accessible design is simply good design.
Accessibility Features
Visual Design
- Color contrast: All text meets or exceeds WCAG AA contrast ratios (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
- Scalable text: Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
- Color independence: Information is not conveyed by color alone
- Dark mode: Respects system preference and includes manual toggle for user comfort
- Clear typography: Readable fonts with appropriate sizing and spacing
Keyboard Navigation
- Full keyboard access: All interactive elements are keyboard accessible
- Visible focus indicators: Clear visual indication when elements receive focus
- Logical tab order: Navigation follows a meaningful sequence
- Skip navigation link: "Skip to main content" link for efficient navigation
- No keyboard traps: Focus can be moved away from all elements
Screen Reader Support
- Semantic HTML: Proper use of headings, landmarks, and structure
- ARIA labels: Descriptive labels for all interactive elements
- Alternative text: All images include descriptive alt text (when images are present)
- Document structure: Logical heading hierarchy (h1-h4)
- Link context: Link purposes are clear from their text or context
Motion & Animation
- Respects user preferences: Reduced motion mode disables animations for users who prefer it
- No auto-play: No content starts automatically
- No flashing: No content flashes more than 3 times per second
Mobile & Responsive
- Responsive design: Works on all device sizes
- Touch targets: Interactive elements are at least 44x44 pixels
- Orientation: Content works in both portrait and landscape
- Zoom support: Mobile browsers can zoom up to 200%
Known Limitations
Despite best efforts, there may be accessibility limitations:
- External links (e.g. LinkedIn) are managed by third parties and their accessibility is beyond my control
- Older browsers may not support all modern accessibility features
Continuous Improvement
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. I regularly:
- Test with assistive technologies
- Review against updated WCAG guidelines
- Incorporate user feedback
- Update content to maintain accessibility
